Good Morning! You are visitor # 43 since November 1, 2017!
I BECAME INTERESTED IN Country Music when I was ten. A school friend began playing her Loretta Lynn and Eddie Arnald recordings for me and I was hooked. Since I had been singing and playing piano in church and at school for about two years already, I naturally began incorporating Country tunes into my repertoire.
When I was 14, a well-known area band performed for a community event. A friend of my family, who was a fan of my singing insisted to the band leader that I sing a song with them. That was my debut performance. About a year thereafter, I joined that very same band and was a member for the next ten years.
As a member of two local Country production house bands, I backed many local artists. I have had the privilege of playing behind a number of Country Music greats including Dave Dudley, Jack Green, Margo Smith, Barbara Fairchild, David Frizel and several others. All of these experiences have honed my skills not only as an artist, but also as a musician.
Until spring of 2000, entertainment was the only career that I'd really taken seriously. The next thing I knew, I was moving from Minnesota, where I had lived for the past 17 years to sunny Southern California. At present, I am employed part time at the California Community College's "Alternate Text Production Center," where I assist in the production of Braille textbooks. I am a member of the "Old Time Fiddlers Association." "At present, I perform at nursing homes, private venues, etc.
It gives me great pleasure to once again be involved with performing Country Music. That activity is the final link in the chain of events which has made Ventura County truly feel like my new home.
